Wheels Up is looking for a world-class Senior Accountant to join our team of dedicated and passionate professionals, fueled by the most powerful brand in private aviation, as we continue our mission of democratizing the private aviation space through cutting-edge technology and innovative product and service offerings. 

 

The Senior Accountant will be responsible for assisting with the Division’s accounting processes, especially the month, quarter and year-end close process and report directly to the Controller, Gama Division.

 

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the accounting close on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis, including analysis of results, resolution of differences and communication of unexpected or unusual variances
  • Assist with the internal reporting function related to the monthly management reporting package and divisional performance metrics
  • Assist with fuel, aircraft maintenance and parts accounting
  • Assist with T&E expense reporting, payroll, and benefits accounting
  • Perform monthly account reconciliations and analysis
  • Interface with internal and external auditors for annual audit, including operating and documenting key internal controls
  • Be proactive in identifying and implementing process improvements within our department to increase efficiency
  • Work closely with multiple departments and accounting and finance team members across the Wheels Up enterprise
  • A working knowledge of current US GAAP required

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting 
  • 4+ years of experience
  • Direct from a Big 4/national firm a plus
  • An active CPA license preferred
  • Experience with NetSuite, Concur, ADP and Microsoft Office etc. is a plus
  • Advanced Excel skills to include pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, etc.
  • Good attitude, willingness to learn and opportunity to contribute to a high-performing accounting team
  • Strong communication skills to be able to communicate effectively with remote employees/ employees based throughout the US
  • Solid organizational and project management skills; demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships at all levels of the organization
