Wheels Up is looking for a world-class Senior Director, Tax in Chamblee, GA (MOC - Member Operations Center) or New York City, NY (HQ) to join our team of dedicated and passionate professionals, fueled by the most powerful brand in private aviation, as we continue our mission of democratizing the private aviation space through cutting-edge technology and innovative product and service offerings. 

• Oversee the income tax compliance process, including preparation of all U.S. federal, state and local, and international tax returns
• Oversee quarterly and annual global income tax provision and reporting process in accordance with ASC 740
• Manage processes related to all indirect taxes, including sales and use tax, federal excise tax, property tax, and other applicable taxes to ensure compliance
• Provide support for strategic initiatives, business transactions, restructurings and M&A activities
• Manage tax audits by various federal and state tax authorities
• Proactively consider, analyze, and communicate the financial statement impact of business transactions/combinations, changes in business results, tax projects and legislative changes
• Communicate with investors regarding tax inquiries and various projects
• Collaborate with external tax advisors, corporate accounting, FP&A, legal and other cross-functional business partners
• Ability to collaborate, develop relationships and partner effectively across the organization in a fast-paced work environment

Minimum Qualifications

• Must live in either greater Atlanta or New York City areas
• Ability to convey complex accounting and tax rules to an audience that is not experienced in tax matters
• Positive, driven and energetic; able to roll-up your sleeves to get the job done
• 10+ years of combined large-scale public accounting and corporate experience
• CPA is required

Preferred Qualifications

• Public company/SEC experience preferred
• Strong knowledge of partnership/LLC and corporate taxation strongly preferred; Up-C experience is a plus
• Strongly prefer advanced degree in Taxation, Accounting, Business or Law

Salary Range

The wage range for this position ($187,000 - $230,000) is determined on a variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, such as differences in skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. This wage range has not been adjusted for any applicable geographic differential associated with where the position may be filled. At Wheels Up, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role. Your placement within the wage range is primarily based on your qualifications and experience.

You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
