Responsibilities

 

  • Conducts negotiations for the procurement of new insurance coverages and the renewal/consolidation of existing coverages, including participating in the formulation of risk management strategy, maintaining the calendar for coverage renewals, preparing presentations, and analyzing pricing options.
  • Aligns renewal dates within the portfolio to fall at the same or close to the same time.  The goal is to get to one “insurance season” during which renewals are handled.
  • Oversees all claims activity, prioritizing recovery from responsible third parties when appropriate, advise on mitigation of exposure when claims must go through our insurance, and informing Finance whether claims are covered by insurance, including for financial reporting purposes.
  • Handles by the insurer’s choice of counsel, ensure matters are advancing appropriately and keep the Wheels Up litigation team apprised of status.
  • Ensures the company is following applicable industry best practices
  • Participates in efforts to enhance, build, or expand risk identification, risk scoring, risk appetite, and risk reporting infrastructures, including relevant programs and processes across the global organization:
    • Build/Expand risk identification programs to ensure risks are appropriately and consistently managed
    • Develop a common risk scoring and ranking mechanism across organizational risk assessments and reviews
    • Participate in the ongoing development of KPIs, metrics, dashboards, and other capabilities to analyze enterprise risks
    • Assist in the establishment of protocols focused on identifying emerging risks to feed the risk and control self-assessments on an ongoing basis
    • Stay informed on industry trends and developments
  • Assists the Global Procurement Team in the review of draft customer and vendor agreements as needed for insurance, indemnification, and liability limitation provisions.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required with eight years of relevant and progressive experience within risk consulting and/or regulatory agency (aviation and/or technology experience a big plus)

Salary Range

The wage range for this position is $132,000- $165,000. The salary is determined on a variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, such as differences in skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. This wage range has not been adjusted for any applicable geographic differential associated with where the position may be filled. At Wheels Up, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role. Your placement within the wage range is primarily based on your qualifications and experience.

You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
