Role Overview: What You’ll Be Doing


Wheels Up is looking for a world-class Long Range Maintenance Planner in Chamblee, GA to join our team of dedicated and passionate professionals, fueled by the most powerful brand in private aviation, as we continue our mission of democratizing the private aviation space through cutting-edge technology and innovative product and service offerings.   

 

This position is responsible for planning, forecasting, and coordinating long-term events across internal departments and 3rd party Maintenance Repair Organizations (MRO) for all schedule maintenance tasks required to keep Wheels Up fleet in compliance with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) requirements and Wheels Up’s FAA approved maintenance program. Integral team member responsible for the coordination and approval of significant maintenance activities to ensure compliance with the FAA approved maintenance and inspection aircraft and component program and modification programs.

Responsibilities

Your Key Responsibilities (Essential Functions)

 

  • Tracks engine and APU hours / cycles for overhauls and hot section timing to align with scheduled maintenance on all aircraft
  • Works closely with the Scheduled Maintenance Planners for timing of HSIs, APU overhauls and Engine overhauls during scheduled maintenance
  • Coordinates shipments of engines and APUs to and from shop facilities
  • Coordinates the returns of any rental engines / APUs back to appropriate vendors
  • Point of contact for all engine and APU vendors related to any upcoming or unforeseen required overhauls, repairs and HSIs
  • Point of contact for all MROs during scheduled maintenance events (and some unscheduled events) during which there is also an engine or APU event (troubleshooting or removal/installation)
  • Orders parts for scheduled maintenance for hot section events or engine removal/installation events
  • Responsible for logbooks on all engines and APUs to ensure they get to appropriate vendor for entry updates. Also responsible for coordinating rental engine / APU updates and shipments to required locations
  • Attends weekly online meetings with all vendors for updates, engine / APU tracking and any other relevant information
  • Participates in annual budget development and periodic budget reviews or reconciliation that may be required.
  • Reviews and approves invoices for all contractual work
  • Assists the Scheduled Maintenance Planning team with tasks, as assigned
  • Assists with monthly reporting and projects, as needed
  • Any other assignments, as required by leadership team

Qualifications

What You Bring to the Table: Education & Certification Requirements

 

We’re looking for someone who has a unique mix of experience, skills, and passion for what we do:

 

  • Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certification
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Must have a minimum of five years of experience in aviation maintenance related field.
  • Must have strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving abilities combined with sound business judgment.
  • Must have a high degree of initiative, detail detail-oriented, and be result-driven.
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Products: Word and Excel.

The Extras We Value (Preferred Requirements)

 

While not mandatory, here are some additional things that would make you stand out:

  • Bachelor's degree - in Business, Aviation Management, Economics, Engineering, Business Intelligence, or Finance
  • Experience with Maintenance Planning and Maintenance Programs, preferred.
  • Specialized application experience in CAMP, Ames Omega, Aerostrat airline software preferred.

At Wheels Up, we believe in fair compensation based on experience, skills, and qualifications. The salary for this role ranges from $68,000 to $85,000, depending on a variety of factors. We don’t typically start individuals at the top of the salary range; your place within the range is based on what you bring to the table. Additionally, you may be eligible for a discretionary annual incentive program, which rewards individual and organizational performance.
