Role Overview: What You’ll Be Doing

The Senior Infrastructure Manager is responsible for overseeing the design, implementation, and maintenance of the organization's IT infrastructure. This includes managing network systems, servers, cloud platforms, and data centers to ensure high availability, security, and scalability. The role requires strategic leadership, technical expertise, and cross-functional collaboration to support business continuity and growth.

Responsibilities

Your Key Responsibilities (Essential Functions)

  • Lead infrastructure operations across network, server, storage, and cloud environments.
  • Manage system performance, availability, and reliability through proactive monitoring and optimization.
  • Oversee infrastructure projects including upgrades, migrations, and new deployments.
  • Implement and maintain cybersecurity protocols, disaster recovery plans, and compliance standards.
  • Coordinate with vendors and service providers for hardware/software procurement and support.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for infrastructure architecture, processes, and policies.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to infrastructure and support teams.
  • Collaborate with IT leadership to align infrastructure strategy with business goals.
  • Participate in the hiring process, develop and execute training plans that produce a high performing Service Desk team
  • Develop direct reports by coaching and mentoring staff by providing feedback, understanding motivators, and aligning them with the overall goals of the team
  • Provide hands on technical leadership across the Service Desk while delivering exceptional service that follows our ticket handling process
  • Provide leadership to ensure critical monitoring and tickets are escalated in a timely manner while maintaining good internal communications and follow through from triage until resolution
  • Assist or lead in IT projects or initiatives as needed
  • Ensure maintenance and improve our knowledge base
  • Ensure departmental policies and procedures are followed
  • Maintain cooperative working relationships with employees and vendors
  • Ensure a safe and healthy workplace

Qualifications

What You Bring to the Table: Education & Certification Requirements

We’re looking for someone who has a unique mix of experience, skills, and passion for what we do:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • 5–7 years of experience in IT infrastructure management, including cloud and on-prem environments.
  • Strong knowledge of networking, virtualization (VMware/Hyper-V), and server technologies.
  • Experience with ITSM tools (e.g., ServiceNow), monitoring platforms, and automation frameworks.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and project management skills.

The Extras We Value (Preferred Requirements)

While not mandatory, here are some additional things that would make you stand out:

  • Certifications such as ITIL, PMP, CCNA/CCNP.
  • Experience with Azure, AWS, and hybrid cloud architectures.
  • Deep knowledge and experience with endpoint security, MDM platforms (e.g., Intune), and VPN deployments.
  • Implement and manage Mobile Device Management (MDM) platforms to ensure secure and compliant mobile access.
  • Knowledge and experience in setting and managing large scale networks and infrastructure.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage vendor relationships.
  • Good communicator with strong people skills.
  • Ability to help create a process when one does not exist and/or improve a process to achieve optimal operational efficiencies.
  • Good to excellent documentation skills.
  • Strong supervisory and management skills.
  • Ability to lead and motivate individuals and teams to achieve program and project objectives.
  • Ability to effectively manage and lead assigned staff.
  • Ability to manage and track assigned budget.
  • Project Management experience preferred.

What We Offer

Salary Range & Benefits

At Wheels Up, we believe in fair compensation based on experience, skills, and qualifications. The yearly compensation for this role ranges from $135,000 - $180,000, depending on a variety of factors. We don’t typically start individuals at the top of the salary range; your place within the range is based on what you bring to the table. Additionally, you may be eligible for a discretionary annual incentive program, which rewards individual and organizational performance.
